Hawaii

After Fiji we flew to Hawaii; what a long trip that is.  We stopped for an hour in Samoa, but it was dark and we weren't allowed to get off the plane; I'm not sure I can count that as having been to Samoa! The total plane time for that trip was nine hours and it was in the middle of the night.  It was hard because we can't sleep on the plane.  That left us dead tired when we got to Hawaii and we couldn't check into our room for several more hours.  We didn't want to waste time so we went shopping, but it was like the zombies shopping.  When we got back to the Marriott, they upgraded our room at no charge so that we were overlooking Wikiki Beach, and they let us in a couple of hours early!  It was a beautiful sight, but we went straight to bed for 6 hours.

We had a few days before we had to fly back to Majuro, so we played hard and tried to see everything we could.  The greatest thing was to be able to go to the Temple again after 16 months.  We were a little bit surprised to see how small the Hawaii Temple in Laie is.  I guess we are used to the Jordan River and Salt Lake Temples.

We spent one day at Pearl Harbor.

This is the SS Arizona which was sunk.  The oil is still seeping up to the top of the water.  They never have gone into this ship because it is the tomb of all of it's sailors.
