A memorable Baptism

We had a baptism in our ward last Saturday for a mother and her two young children.  I don’t have any pictures for this story, so I will try to paint a picture with words.

Elder Swain, a new Elder in our mission, was doing his first baptism.  Elder Swain has a smile that would light up Texas and you could see him glow all over as he baptized the first candidate, a little eight year old boy.  The little boy climbed up the stairs dripping wet and went into the rest room to change and his sister stepped down into the font.  As Elder Swain was giving the baptism prayer in Marshallese, the little boy tiptoed out to the stairs at the back of the font in full view of everyone, stark naked!  He crouched over in an attempt to be modest and seem smaller; he wanted to watch his sister be baptized.  Elder Swain’s smile got bigger and bigger as he became flustered.  He had to start over on the prayer all the while the little boy was on full display.  Needless to say there were a lot of giggles going through the audience.
