Island Hopping

This Saturday we went Island hopping.  When the tide is low, we can walk through the rough corral and volcanic rock to other close islands that are actually part of the atoll.  The trick was to time it right so that we could get back before the tide came in.  We slogged over to Ejit, a tiny inhabited island; the puddles of water were full of tiny, very colorful fish and baby octopuses. It was slow going because the rocks were slippery and the ground very uneven, but we made it.  We even ventured out a couple of feet into the ocean.  It is much cleaner there, so we decided to play in the water a little bit.
Ejit is small, about four or five acres of land but it has a tiny hospital, a police station and a school.
