More Tarawa

These pictures are the Prison in Tarawa.  I had some serious questions of how it works since there are no wall on the building and the fence looks like it has been crossed many times.  I also noted that there were no guards in the guard shack.  Maybe it works because they don't have to worry about where their food comes from.
We were privileged to witness a baptism in the lagoon while we were in Tarawa.  There was quite a bit of wading before they could get to deep enough water because the tide was out at the time.  The witnesses were worried because it was difficult to see so far out.

We were privileged to be invited to the annual Stake cultural night; we were lucky enough to be there at the right time!   We enjoyed the supurbly professional dancing and chanting of each ward presentation.   It went from late afternoon until long after dark.  All of the missionaries were invited as special guests and we were served a marvelous banquet during the intermission.  We felt funny being the only ones in the huge audience that were fed.
