I'm learning the language

Today is our 41st wedding anniversary. Last year for our anniversary, we turned in our mission papers to the Bishop. It is unbelievable that it has been a whole year since we have done that! This year really flew by fast.

Last weekend at a baptism in Laura, we had to be early because I had the baptism clothes and I made and printed the programs. It gave us a little bit of time to visit with other early people. It was so fun because they started quizing me in Marshallese and I was answering them. It was one of the best opportunities of conversing in Marshallese that I had experienced. They were all so excited about how well I was doing and it was very fun for me. I am starting to make a real breakthrough with the language. I can actually understand a lot of what is being said in church. We didn't have translators this Sunday because one of the missionaries was sick, so I listened and did my own translating. I came home very elated that I was able to understand so much of it. speaking it is a lot harder, so I am thrilled that I can carry on some conversation too. The people are all so sweet and encouraging. The young missionaries told me that it starts to snowball at this point and I will learn faster and faster. All of those nights of studying are paying huge dividends now! I have been motivated to learn this language and it is fun and rewarding for me.  Jeraman ilo rainin im kommaltata
